My sister and I (Debbie Berlino & Francie Horton) had previously submitted a project where we had helped organize and run a fundraiser for a friend’s daughter who is sick with Pancreatic cancer. At that time I had mentioned that our next endeavor would be cooking dinner for the families staying at our local Ronald McDonald House. Their children are being treated at the Albany Medical Center Hospital.
We did so today. As you can see by the pictures, ourselves (top left) and 2 of our sisters, along with 3 friends(who are also David fans!) got together and shopped, donated and prepared the meal for 30 residents. The meal consisted of oven roasted potatoes, fresh green beans, a broccoli & rice casserole, tossed salad & dinner rolls, Ham, and Chicken.
We met a family whose little son has Leukemia and a young couple whose 23 day old daughter has already endured 2 surgeries. Really makes one count their blessings after seeing what others are going through with their children.
